Quote of the Day #2

The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life, and the procedure, the process is its own reward.

Amelia Earhart

Today is the 125th birthday of Amelia Earhart, a pioneering aviator, who still occupies a mythical place in the public imagination exactly 80 years after her enigmatic disappearance while attempting to circumnavigate the globe.

And… Fold. Fold. Fold.

For our next creative venture, we’ve got “Origami”. You must have heard of it at least once and if you haven’t, it is the art of folding paper to transform flat sheets of paper into some wonderful decorative model or sculpture.

It is often associated with Japanese culture, and the very word origami comes from the words ori meaning “folding” and kami meaning “paper”, so it basically means ‘to fold paper’.

Fanart Illustration #4 – Attack On Titan

If I haven’t said this before, I’m also into anime. And guess which is one of my favorites? Dragon Ball Z! But another top favorite is, you guessed it, Attack on Titan.

Attack on Titan, brought to my attention by it’s popularity (which I’m glad it did), was a great addition to the anime watchlist. And it ain’t popular for no reason I tell ya. It is one of the best out there. It’s got a dark fantasy theme to it but it’s story is really captivating.

Fanart Illustrations #3 – Money Heist

Money Heist was probably my first series (or at least my first Spanish series) and I quite enjoyed watching it. The first episode was itself pretty capturing. I also loved the intro and music. The introduction, with the city names and all, looked pretty cool too. And the idea of a man named simply the professor planning out the biggest heist in history was even cooler.

Fanart Illustrations #2 – Spider-Man

These are the ones I did when I was super hyped about the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” movie. It was very anticipative as there were rumors that the 3 spider-men would appear in it and we didn’t really know if it was true but wished it was. The idea of the 3 appearing together in a multiverse sounded very cool to me! And it was cool. And there was a nostalgia to it since Spiderman was one of the very first superhero films that I watched during my childhood and I absolutely loved it back then (and I still do). And the movie was a treat, especially for us Spiderman fans, it was so good. The 3 Spider-men along with the old villains and Doctor Strange made it very enjoyable.

Fanart Illustrations #1 – Squid Game

So the time I got around trying out this illustration thingy was that period when the Netflix series “Squid Game” was very popular and so I just had to do some fanart illustrations of it. I really liked the show, it was a thrilling one. It’s got an ironic theme with a combination of innocent children’s games and death. We all know how things got from 0 to 100 in the very first episode itself!

First up.. Digital Art Illustrations!

Digital art is a really fancy form of art. Its like an interesting fusion of art and technology. If you don’t know what it is, its creating visual art using computer assisted tools which basically means you draw on a computer or mobile (or whatever it is kids use these days) instead of plain old paper. There are many forms and ways you can do it (like many many) and there’s all sorts of artworks that can be made like computer graphics, 3D modelling and animation, interactive art and more cool stuff.. And obviously it’s being used in a ton of areas. But that’s digital art in the broader sense, right now I’ll just talk about simple digital art illustrations that I tried out.
